Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of aid is provided by The Butterfly Organization?

The Butterfly Organization provides support to help people having difficulty fulfilling their basic needs, or caring for their health and well-being following a serious loss or illness.

What is the eligibility criteria to be considered as a recipient?

We will first establish that candidates do not have the funds or the physical capability of helping themselves. The final candidate is selected based on a vote by the board of directors. **Applicants must be Colorado residents only**

How long does the assessment period take once I submit a request for aid?

To qualify for assistance, we will run a background check on the recipient, contact her referrals and conduct a personal interview. This process may take up to 14 business days to complete.

Can I nominate a friend to receive aid?

You may nominate a family member or friend that is going through unique hardships in their life due to the loss of a loved one, or as a result of serious illness or injury.

For how long can someone receive support?

Each request for aid is assessed on a case-by-case basis and voted on by the board of directors. However, there is a lifetime limit on aid given to any individual person or family.
