Putts4Patrick 2018: 3rd Annual Memorial Golf Tournament
We had another wonderful Putts4Patrick event this year! On Friday, August 24, 2018, we gathered at the stunningly beautiful Arrowhead Golf Course in Littleton, CO for the third annual memorial golf tournament honoring our founder’s late husband. Patrick Fitzgerald was struck and killed in 2014 by a distracted driver while riding his bicycle home from work. As an exuberant and deeply caring man, The Butterfly Foundation and our founder, Nancy Fitzgerald, began this tradition in his stead to educate others of the dangers of distracted driving and raise money to help other families affected by tragedy.
With 124 golfers and a shotgun start, the day kicked off with a bang! Our patrons enjoyed warm, sunny weather and a day away from the office in the name of a wonderful cause. All proceeds raised by Putts4Patrick sponsors, golfers, and silent auction bids go directly to supporting The Butterfly Foundation’s recipients. This year, some of our proceeds will immediately help a mother and 6-year-old son move out of a battered women’s shelter and into an apartment. We are also helping two families who were living together and lost everything after their home burned down due to a field fire; they are in a new house and we are providing them with new clothes, furniture, bikes for their kids, computers, and more. We couldn’t have achieved this without your support!
